Bake Off raises even more dough for Macmillan Coffee Morning

As ever, the Nestor Bake Off was on everyone’s lips. Who was going to walk away with the Best Tasting Cake? Who was going to take the Golden Bean? The judges – our very own Mary
Berry (Jennifer Stone) and Paul Hollywood (Nick Martin) had their work cut out to choose the winners – so with a long and deliberate pause for effect, the winners are…

  • Best Tasting Savoury – Catherine Mullin with her “Say Cheese” cheese and onion pie
  • Best Tasting Cake – Nick Leech with Sal’s “Strawberry Sponge”
  • Best Name – Nicola Wassilenko with “All Our Nestor Days”
  • Showstopper – Sarah Benson with “Oreo and mint cheesecake”
  • Best Kids’ Entry – All three entries were deserved winners, with Nick Leech, Suzanne Royle and Charlotte Glancy’s children sharing the crown, with chocolates all round
  • Spot the Cake was won by Andy Gibbins with a 500 spot guess. Correct answer was 495 and Andy was the closest
  • The Golden Bean was won by Jennifer Stone with number 16

We have raised a fantastic £124.50 so far. Well done and thank you to everyone who supported this successful Macmillan fundraiser.
