The Nestor Foundation celebrated its first birthday in January 2015. Here’s a brief look back at some of the wonderful causes we’ve supported in our first year.
- A Nestor team completed the 54-mile 24-hour Brecon Challenge. They trekked over the Brecon Beacons to raise money for The Silverlining, a charity that supports people with ABIs rebuild their lives by helping others.
- A local children’s football team, Pennine Juniors, was given £375 from Nestor Financial Group to purchase new kits. The Foundation also supported Nestor’s MacMillan Cancer Charity Coffee Morning Cake Bake and their efforts, along with generous support from staff which led to us doubling our fundraising for the charity
- The Foundation also donated to Headway Preston and Chorley, a charity that gives support and advice to individuals, their families and carers. The Foundation helped to fund a magician for a night and organised auction prizes for a fundraising event
We’ve also supported the Teenage Cancer Trust, Bury Hospice, the Jubilee Sailing Trust and Margaret Hayes Riding School for the Disabled.
For 2015, the Trustees have, to date, pledged donations and support for The Silverlining, CBIT, Rainbow House, RNIB Emotional Support Service to fund training, the Queen Elizabeth Foundation for the Disabled to fund disabled holidays and local Headway branches.
The Nestor Foundation will be bringing more charities on board throughout the year and update you with our progress. We’re dedicated to giving back to our community and to help people who need it and, in particular, to help people suffering from acquired brain injuries rebuild their lives.
